Hello.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m a Michigan boy who has lived in NYC over 25 years. I am a licensed NYC tour guide and member of Guides Association of New York City (GANYC). I’ve guided hundreds of tours around NYC. Leave the navigation to me so you can just enjoy the sites and most picturesque views of the best landmarks of our city. I know the best spot that will wow your Instagram followers. I also will provide a commentary of history and local color that I hope you’ll find educational and entertaining. Click here to see reviews of my tours (all 5-star—so far!). I’ve been described as “patient,” “organized,” “very fun” and “a terrific guide.”

I specialize in NYC parks, and I love bike tours, but I also offer walking tours of Central Park, the Highline and Brooklyn Bridge. If the tour times offered here do not suit your schedule, please feel free to message me and we’ll see if we can find a time that works for both of us. I also am also happy to create a custom itinerary that takes you and your group wherever you care to go and explores your interests. Happy and safe travels! — Scott

Bigger than life!

NYC’s Most Colorful Street Art Tour

Moderate Difficulty | $48 (includes bike) | 3 Hours

The art featured at the Bushwick Collective is breathtaking, in its size and scope as well as the diversity of styles and talent on display. The Collective is must-see for people who appreciate street art. If Manhattan has become a little too “Disney-fied” to ignite your passions, you’ll find the world-famous NYC grit on full display in this industrial, open-air museum. Please be assured we’ll stay on bike lanes, and I’ve mapped this out for maximum comfort and safety. In addition to the street art, this tour offers a great look at of some of Brooklyn’s nicest and most famous neighborhoods, Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Williamsburg and Bushwick.

Bikers’ paradise, wide drives, no cars!

Day Trip to Governors Island

Easy Ride | $48 (includes bike) | 1.5-2 Hours

If you’re looking for a day or half-day adventure that will take you off the city’s beaten path, Governors Island is a great choice! Still New Yorkers’ best-kept secret, this island has only been open to the public since 2005, and is not yet pinging on most tourists’ radars. Part of the US National Parks system, the island is home to two Revolutionary War-era forts, and a beautiful, new public park. It’s rich with American, New York and military, aviation and maritime history, as it served as a military base for 166 years. In the 21st century, the island has been ingeniously reimagined as an innovative public space and is home to many arts, education, cultural and environmental non-profits. It’s bite-sized, too—just 172 acres total, with a 2-mile (3.2 km) perimeter, so it’s the perfect for a day trip. Its many lawns and shade trees beckon you to enjoy a picnic lunch, and the kids will love it. And—as there are no cars allowed—it’s the perfect place to bike. Bike rental is for the entire day, so you can stay and eat ice cream in Hammock Grove, relax in the Adirondack chairs and admire the Statue of Liberty, so close you feel like you can reach out and touch her.

“Scott is a terrific guide—not just because he seems to know every possible detail of the Island, but also because he cares so deeply for its future. He has volunteered there for years because of his passion for history and for public parks. Much more meaningful than doing this on our own.”

Walk New York’s Highline Park

Easy Stroll | 100% accessible | $18 (includes tickets to Vessel, if available at time of booking) | 1.5-2 Hours

Since opening in 2009, the Highline Park has fast become one of NYC’s most popular attractions. This long and very narrow park now averages 7 million visitors a year. And no wonder—it is truly a unique space where history, horticulture and architecture intersect. We’ll walk the 1.4-mile (2.3 km) length of the elevated Highline as it snakes above some of Manhattan’s most charming and picturesque neighborhoods. We’ll begin in Meatpacking District, which has transformed from a gritty industrial space of working-class immigrants, to its current incarnation of glamorous designer shops, restaurants and lofts (like that of Samantha Jones on Sex and the City). Then it’s up to Chelsea, where maybe we’ll find time for cup of coffee, in the old Nabisco factory that is now the charming Chelsea Market. We’ll finish at Hudson Yards, New York’s newest and shiniest neighborhood comprising 28 acres and over 18 million square feet of office, retail, and residential space. If you’re up to it, we’ll climb the Vessel, I’ll arrange your ticket (if they are available at time of booking). My tour covers a wide variety of topics, from the history of these neighborhoods to the world-class architecture that surrounds them and the public art that adorns them, as well as the transformation of this space from an abandoned railroad track to a beautiful garden in the sky.

“Great tour of the Highline, like a walk with a knowledgeable friend. The complimentary flask of hot chocolate was much appreciated on a cold NY day.”
